Four area runners finished in the Top 10 in the State Open cross country races held at Wickham Park in Manchester Friday.
Boys: Brendan Murray of Cheshire was second overall, finishing 17 seconds behind winner Drew Thompson of Fairfield Prep. Derby’s Ken Little finished 10th.
Girls: In the team competition Pomperaug was an impressive third behind Glastonbury and Danbury. In the individual results, Katherine Wiser of Pomperaug was second, 19 seconds behind winner Morgan McCormick of Wilton. Bethany Ottowitz of Watertown was seventh.
